Description
She was terrified, an unwilling captive. Snatched from the sanctuary of her own home, she agonized that she would never see her loving parents and her high-spirited, energetic siblings again. She and her abductor had travelled countless kilometers in the torrential monsoon rains. The hour of darkness descended upon them and she panicked because she had never been away from home after dark. She had stopped begging him to turn around and take her back home because her pitiful pleas fell on deaf ears. An unfamiliar sense of dread staked a permanent place in her heart as he hurried to some unknown destination. With confusion and fear occupying her mind she was unaware of the plans playing out in his evil mind. She had cried her eyes out during the rain-drenched ride, not that her tears would have been visible with the rainwater pouring down her face and dripping off her already waterlogged clothes. She was exhausted and chilled to the bone. Her mind searched frantically for a means of escape, but at six years of age, her inexperienced child’s mind didn’t have the ability to strategize her way out of this quandary.
To any discerning adult, the reason he had kidnapped her was obvious, but innocent child she was, she had no understanding of the dark side of the man’s thoughts. There were three things she knew for certain: she was terrified, she had to escape him, and she had to find her way back home to her family. But therein lay the problem. How could she find her way home when she had no idea where in the world she was?
